KWB Accountants: Navigating CRA and Service Canada Online Tools

Here are some great tools on the CRA website to help in day to day activities that I personally use.

1)       Payroll Deduction Online Calculator

Use the Payroll Deductions Online Calculator (PDOC) to calculate federal, provincial (except for Quebec), and territorial payroll deductions. It will confirm or allow you to calculate the deductions you include on your official statement of earnings.

2)      Videos and recorded webinars for businesses

To view numerous videos on various topics applicable to businesses, visit this page.

3)      Child and family benefits calculators

To estimate payments to which you may be entitled, you can use these Canada Revenue Agency calculators. Calculations are based on the information you enter in the calculator fields. You may be eligible for payments for the following:

  • Canada child tax benefit (CCTB) – includes related provincial and territorial benefits
  • Goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit – includes related provincial credits
  • Working income tax benefit (WITB)

6)      Canadian Retirement Income Calculator

This Service Canada calculator is an excellent tool for the use of estimating ongoing retirement income generated through OAS, CPP, employer pension, RRSPs and other sources based on past and intended contributions and payments.
