Overview

A business for good B1G1 (Buy1Give1) initiative integrates charitable giving directly into a company’s operations, allowing businesses to make a social impact with every transaction. This model transforms everyday business activities into opportunities for positive change, fostering a sense of purpose beyond profit.

By embedding giving into their core, businesses can enhance their brand reputation, engage employees, and attract socially conscious customers. It provides a structured and transparent way for companies to contribute to global causes.

  • Core Concept: B1G1 enables businesses to make a specific, measurable impact with every sale or activity, aligning commercial success with social responsibility.
  • Benefits for Businesses: Implementing a B1G1 model can significantly boost brand reputation and customer loyalty by demonstrating a clear commitment to social good.
  • Impact Measurement: The B1G1 platform provides tools for businesses to track and communicate their giving impact, offering transparency to customers and stakeholders.
  • Integration and Support: Businesses receive support in integrating giving into their operations, ensuring that their contributions are effective and aligned with their values.

KWB Accountants & Advisors: Partnering for Business for Good in Edmonton

In 2007, a group of small-business owners had an idea called Business for Good with B1G1. They asked, “what would happen if we all gave back just by doing the things we do every day?” It was a question that deeply inspired them.

Three years and a great undertaking later, they were able to design the systems and processes necessary to make it work, and their dream is now a reality. The initiative was originally called ‘Buy1Give1,’ backed by the idea that companies would create a specific giving impact with each designated business transaction. Today, the B1G1 initiative brings together more than 2,600 businesses from around the world — each making significant impacts in their own ways.

KWB joined B1G1 in January 2019 and since then, we have created tens of thousands of impacts all over the world. We match services that we provide to you with projects that enrich and enhance the lives of others.
