  • Your Social Insurance Number
  • Your Date of Birth
  • Your Postal Code
  • A copy of your last 2 income tax returns

Steps to Register

1. Go to the CRA website

2. Choose your preferred language

3. Click the Log in / Register link on the right hand side

4. Select either My Account or My Business Account depending on which account you want to access

5. Click on Register. (For subsequent logins click on “CRA login”)

6. Enter your social insurance number, then click continue

7. Validate your identity by entering your date of birth, postal code and tax information from line 101 of your tax return, then click continue

9. Once this is complete, you will have to wait at least 5 business days (15 business days outside of Canada and the United States) to receive your CRA security code in the mail.  The security code has an expiry date, so it is important to follow the instructions in the letter received within the deadline.

10. You will only need the CRA security code to access the My Account Service for the first time. After your first visit, your User ID and password will be enough to log in.
