Overview
The **Canadian Digital Adoption Program** (CDAP) is a government initiative designed to help Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) leverage digital technologies to grow their businesses and enhance their competitiveness. This program offers financial support and expert advice to facilitate digital transformation.
CDAP is structured into two main streams, each targeting different aspects of digital adoption, from establishing an online presence to implementing advanced digital technologies.
- Purpose: The program aims to boost economic recovery and growth by empowering Canadian businesses to embrace digitalization, as further detailed in understanding CDAP.
- Stream 1 Focus: The “Grow Your Business Online” stream provides micro-grants and e-commerce advisor support to help businesses establish or enhance their online sales, which is explored in Stream 1 details.
- Stream 2 Focus: The “Boost Your Business Technology” stream offers grants for developing digital adoption plans and interest-free loans to implement new technologies, with specific grant eligibility criteria.
Understanding the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP)
Updated February 20, 2024: Applications for the Boost Your Business Technology grant are currently closed. Due to a high volume of interest, the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) Boost Your Business Technology grant is fully subscribed and is no longer accepting new applications. If you have a valid CDAP grant agreement, you can continue to work with us and submit your claim for reimbursement once your Digital Plan is complete. Be sure to check when your agreement expires and submit your claim before that date to remain eligible for the grant. The CDAP Grow Your Business Online grant of $2400 remains open for applications.
CDAP Stream 1: Grow Your Business Online
A subsidy is now available for small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs who develop a digital roadmap and transformation strategy. The Canadian Digital Adoption Program will provide companies 90% up to $15,000 to support the development of a digital transformation strategy, and applications are now being accepted here.
The subsidy will be in the form of grant payments that will help offset the cost of support from a digital and business advisor, like KWB Accountants & Advisors, who will help you develop your strategy. We’ll help you to determine the best digital pathways and strategies that will support you in achieving your business goals. Additionally, applicants can enlist the help of post-secondary students and recent graduates through subsidized work placements.
CDAP Stream 1: Grow Your Business Online Grant
To apply, your business must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be incorporated federally or provincially, or be a Canadian resident sole proprietor
- Be a for-profit, privately owned business
- Have between 1-499 full-time equivalent employees
- Have at least $500,000 of annual revenues in the previous three tax years
